Commonwealth Day Monday 12 March 2018

At a special Commonwealth Day Event on Monday 12 March 2018 at 12.00 noon an announcement was made of the winners of Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir Competitions 2017.

The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir (CYO) is pleased to announce the following winners of the Commonwealth Music Competitions 2017:

Commonwealth Community Choir 2017

Winner is National Youth Choir of Antigua and Barbuda

The CYO, as part of the prize of winning this competition, has invited 20 current members of the National Youth Choir of Antigua and Barbuda, with 2 adult escorts, with all travel expenses covered, to perform with the CYO in a special Prize-Giving Event in the United Kingdom. Full details will be made available in due course.

Also as part of the prize the National Youth Choir of Antigua and Barbuda will become Commonwealth Music Ambassadors 2018.

Commonwealth Children’s Choir Competition 2017

Winner is the Choir of St Michael’s School, London Borough of Newham

The CYO, as part of the prize of winning this competition, has invited 20 current members of the Choir of St Michael’s School, London Borough of Newham, with all travel expenses covered, to perform with the CYO in a special Prize-Giving Event in the United Kingdom. Full details will be made available in due course.

Also as part of the prize, the Choir of St Michael’s School, has become a Commonwealth Music Ambassador 2018 and St Michael’s School has received from CYO a donation of £1,000.
